So you’ve got a skin rash.
You’re not sure WTF it is, or where the F it came from. Maybe you ran into some poison ivy on your hike. Maybe your new laundry detergent isn’t as natural and skin-friendly as advertised.
Whatever, this skin rash sucks—it’s itchy and red and painful and you want it gone.
Which type of chamomile would you choose to soothe and heal your skin?
German chamomile (Matricaria recutita), a blue oil the smells floral and sweet, and is full of chamazulene and a-bisabolol?
Or Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile), a rich floral oil that smells like warm apples in the sun?
As you can see, they’re from different genus and species. Even though they’re both chamomiles made from little white daisy-like flowers, they’re very different oils. But they’re from the same botanical family, Asteraceae, and they’re both sweet and calming.
Choose one of the two below, and if you like, leave a comment about why you chose the chamomile you did.
I’ll send you the results of this poll in a few days, along with my own choice, why I’d use it, and a recipe for that painful rash. :-)
